Cooper and JoJo are childhood best friends with history and heartbreak between them, crammed into one cozy cabin on a cruise ship with everything unsaid hanging in the air. The banter sparkles, the fake flirting doesn’t feel very fake and the slow dancing is genuinely swoony. Cooper is that man. the kind everyone on the internet would immediately call a keeper and the whole cast of characters around them is warm and well-developed. The only thing keeping this from a full five is that JoJo’s emotional whiplash occasionally reads more as immaturity than endearing chaos and the slapstick moments ask you to fully suspend disbelief and just enjoy the ride, which, once you lean in, you absolutely will. Cozy, clever, and deeply shippable.
