Eine wundervolle Geschichte mit einem interessanten Magiesystem und starken Charakteren.
Ich liebe alles an dem Buch. Das Setting, die langsame Entwicklung der (gesunden!) Beziehung zwischen den Protagonisten, die Nebencharaktere, die Magie und sogar den Cliffhanger. Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf den zweiten Teil!
Unexpectedly good
I have read a lot of C. N. Holmberg. Some were good, some meh. So, my expectations for this book were not that high. It was either a hit, or a miss. To my surprise, this was definitely a HIT! I was hanging on to every event in the book. And I was not disappointed. At all. I love Nym. I love Renn.

Ein tolles Magiesystem, eine interessante, vielschichtige Protagonistin, politische Machenschaften und eine Liebesgeschichte , die sich absolut ansprechend und herzerwärmend aufbaut. Absolut einzigartig, wie Nyms Heil-Magie beschrieben wird, wie umfangreich und detaillert und einfach magisch. Ich habe mitgefiebert und es hat mir super gut gefallen, höre direkt Band 2 :)

I really enjoyed the story. Nym is a clever young woman with a sharp tongue and impressive abilities. I extremely liked the way her magic was described, how the healing process itself was described. I’ve never read a book where healing was so intense and creative. Also her backstory was heartbreaking whenever we learned more about it. So be careful to read the trigger warnings. Renn was an ass at the beginning of the book and I wholeheartedly hated how he behaved. But to see the broken and depressed man heal not only physically but also mentally was described beautifully and touching. The development of their relationship was amazing and neither too rapid nor too slow. The whole story was intermingled with politics and a nice worldbuilding. I only take away one star because in the beginning it was a bit too much repetitive healing without anything happening, but after that it was such an amazing read. The ending definitely had a quite brutal cliffhanger and I absolutely need the sequel as fast as possible. Thanks to Netgalley for the eARC!
I LOVED the book . I actually started the book when I mentally didn't feel well, and I felt like with every page I read, every step Renn got to be more healed I also healed a bit more. That made it so good. Also the story was so good, but sadly only 4 stars cause the ending was kinda rushed and weird. Cause the whole Kingdom attacked storyline was just spawned and didn't make sense, also why did his family get killed? I feel like they could've done the ending better, like they all talk or something yk. Also I don't know if the book is a series or a standalone, cause if it's a standalone the ending was shit. Cause it's an open ending which I don't like... If it's a series then YES has a good ending, but you don't know if it is or not... Xo
