with their own lives, not to mention the poet.
Margery Sharp’s classic tale of pluck, luck, and derring-do is amply and beautifully illustrated by the great Garth Williams.

Fun and engaging if not fully developed. This was a much different book than the film adaptation had me believe in, but I quickly overcame that and enjoyed the original story. (And by the sounds of it the film may have borrowed more from this books sequel.) Bianca and Bernard are just as lovable as they were in the film, although I would've liked a bit more depth to them. All in all it was a good enough read, and I think I'll be checking out the sequels in the future.
