Nachdem mir Band Eins so gut gefallen hat, wollte ich unbedingt auch Band Zwei lesen. Die Geschichte selbst spielt zwar in der gleichen Welt, hat jedoch andere Protagonisten, als der erste Teil und ist somit keine Fortsetzung des ersten Teils. Trotz dessen trifft man aber auch die Charaktere des ersten Bandes wieder. Wie schon in Band 1, ist der Schreibstil einfach etwas besonderes. Die Geschichte ist wundervoll poetisch geschrieben, was erst einmal gewöhnungsbedürftig ist. Irgendwann fand ich aber grade das einfach toll. Die Geschichte selbst ist einfach magisch, romantisch und herzzerreißend und bietet definitiv alles, was das Fantasyherz begehrt. Die Welt ist unglaublich interessant und phantasievoll gestaltet und ich wäre am liebsten noch ein wenig länger geblieben. Allerdings hat mir, auch wenn ich die Grundidee der Geschichte und besonders die Charaktere toll fand, auch hier ein wenig die Spannung gefehlt. Besonders im Mittelteil wurde das Buch ein wenig langatmig. Alles in allem aber eine schöne Geschichte, die ich Romantasyfans absolut empfehlen würde.
Endlich ist der Nachfolgeband von Bird & Sword erschienen! Da mir Band 1 so gut gefallen hatte habe ich diesem Buch richtig entgegen gefiebert. Gestern angefangen und heute schon durchgelesen, es war leider viel zu kurz und doch richtig. Diesmal geht es um Kjell den Bruder von Tiras. Kjell hatte bei mir aus Band 1 nicht so viele Sympathiepunkte gehabt aber nach diesen Band finde ich ihn richtig toll :) Die Autorin hat eine wirklich tolle Welt erschaffen, ihre Idee viele Bibelgeschichten aufzugreifen und anders weiter zu erzählen. So waren die Geschichten die erzählt wurden bekannt aber doch auch nicht. Mit Sasha hat die Autorin wieder einen tollen neuen Charakter in die Welt eingeführt, obwohl sie manchmal doch sehr naiv rüberkam. Bin froh, dass sich das dann aber später aufklärt, wieso sie so ist. Mich überrascht auch immer noch der Ideenreichtum für die ganzen unterschiedlichen Begabungen der Menschen. Es läßt die Geschichte regelrecht schimmern vor einfallsreichtum. Ich hoffe ich die Autorin schreibt weiterhin so grandiose Geschichten! Danke an den Verlag und an Netgalley für die Chance dieses Rezensionsexemplar lesen zu dürfen.

I still am, really.”‘ · Has about every dystopian YA trope you can think of · Hunger games: She lives in sector eight of ten, has little food and hunts instead, with a boy who’s her best friend since childhood, cares for her younger sibling while her mother is mentally absent from their lives, then gets on a train where she gets a make-over from a woman looking down on the poors and goes to the rich „capital“, where everyone gets to choose a weapon they‘ll train with · Divergent: the candidates get plunged into a simulation where they‘re tested and everyone forgets what happened in there except for the main character ; learning to fight to be soldiers later on · Selection: she lives with a rich boy belonging to the aristocracy who confuses her · Everyone gets implanted a tattoo with which the government can presumably control · Another trope: testing people with word games, killing children for sport · At 30-40%: The ending seems kinda obvious: the directorate brought the blight onto the sectors to quench any rebellion and there is no cure - wasn’t that far off · Finn being like hopelessly in love with the female lead came out of nowhere? „It’s been torture, not being able to talk to you. Being so close, yet so far apart.“ ?? Also: „In this moment, I feel more for Finn than I’ve ever felt for anyone in my life.“ more than for her brother??? · „It’s the Directorate’s way of exerting their power. It’s only a matter of time before they begin broadcasting the killings as a warning to anyone who’s considering rebellion.“ so exactly like Hunger Games then? · Finished it, didn‘t enjoy it · How the fuck is this stretched out over 5 books
