In einem unterhaltsameren Schreibstil kann man 250 Jahre englische Königsgeschichte in einem Sachbuch nicht darstellen. Das Haus der Plantagenet hat zwischen 1154 und 1399 diverse berüchtigte Könige gestellt, unter anderem Heinrich II. oder Richard Löwenherz, alle mit ihren eigenen Errungenschaften, Krisen und Grausamkeiten. Sie haben aber auch bedeutende Spuren für die Nachwelt hinterlassen. Wer sich für europäische und englische Geschichte interessiert und auch faktischen Hintergrund zu bereits gelesenen historischen Romanen in diesem Zeitalter erfahren möchte, kommt an diesem Buch nicht vorbei.
Phänomenal. Für alle die historisch interessiert sind und trotzdem nicht mit langweiligen, aneinandergereihten Daten und Fakten bombardiert werden möchten ist dieses Buch ein Muss. Glaube ich hab noch NIE so interessante Geschichte als Sachbuch gelesen. So spannend, so detailliert ohne zäh zu werden, so so so gut. Wow.
