Die 17-Jährige Protagonistin erfuhr dass Lily, ihre seit ihrer Kindheit verschwundene Mutter, verstorben sei. Kurzer Hand später befindet sie sich mit gestohlener Kreditkarte ohne Schulabschluss in L.A. um mehr über ihre Mutter zu erfahren. Ein wilder Ritt durch Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft. Einerseits hat die Geschichte viel Tiefsinn zwischen den Zeilen und gibt ein Gefühl des Lebens, der Liebe und Vergänglichkeit. Andererseits war es zwischendurch etwas langatmig. Das Ende hat mir jedoch sehr gut gefallen und es werden die Punkte im Buch aufgelöst.
Starker Anfang
Pink Hotel beginnt stark und führt einen gleich in die Geschichte. Die Protagonistin ist auf der Suche nach der Vergangenheit ihrer Mutter und trifft dabei in LA viele Personen. Der Anfang ist spannend und auch aktionreich, nicht alle Personen sind nett und Drogen sind ein großes Thema. Mit 17 ist sie definitiv sehr weit entwickelt und hat ebenfalls kein leichtes Leben. Ab der Mitte zieht es sich dann leider. Sie macht ebenfalls neue Lienesbekanntschafte und lernt das Leben von einer anderen Seite kennen, trotzdem fehlt mit persönlich etwas Tiefgang. Alle offenen Fragen werden am Ende geklärt, die einzige die ich gerade nicht beantworten kann ist die Frage nach ihrem Namen. Trotz nachschlagen im Buch bin ich nicht sicher, ob ihr "echter" Name überhaupt genannt wird.
