Als Lucy auf Diana trifft, ist Diana zwar sehr höflich aber auch distanziert. Auch als die Hochzeit bevorsteht weiß Lucy, dass sie nie eine enge Beziehung zu ihrer Schwiegermutter haben wird. Nach 10 Jahren findet man Diana tot in ihrem Haus mit einer Notiz, dass sie Selbstmord begangen hat, aber die Polizei findet heraus, dass sie es nicht getan hat. Wer hat Diana umgebracht? Es ist kein typischer Thriller, es ist eher ein ruhiger Thriller wo man herausfinden will, was mit Diana passiert ist. Die Geschichte wird abwechselnd von Lucy und Diana erzählt und man bekommt eine gute Sicht von beiden Seiten. Ich konnte einerseits Lucy verstehen warum sie sich gerne eine gute Beziehung zu ihrer Schwiegermutter gewünscht hätte und andererseits hab ich auch nachempfinden können warum Diana so distanziert gewesen ist. Obwohl der Thriller ruhig war dennoch spannend und interessant, denn jeder aus der Familie verbirgt mehr oder weniger ein Geheimnis. Und dann ist natürlich die Frage wer hat Diana ermordet? Ich kann das Buch auf jeden Fall empfehlen. (Eine deutsche Version ist noch erschienen)
This is such a great book, story! I listened on Audible (my “driving book”) and loved the Australian narration. The story lines were complex and in the end, I was very surprised I didn’t predict the ending ahead of time. I just knew “who did it”, but at the end, a final twist occurs and it left me surprised, yet nodding at how it ended. Definitely recommend!
