3.5 stars for me. So I don’t know exactly what it was with this book, but it did feel not as good as the prequel. The ravens was an amazing book with good writing and world building. The monarch’s however … it fell flat for me. The writing was easy and fast paced, but for some reason it felt like nothing really happened throughout the book. The hight of the fight was almost comical and did not feel threatening. There was one moment wich had me gasping but that was it. I’m afraid the story didn’t accomplish much and since it is the last book, it was a week finale.
