I'm really torn and don't really know how to rate this... I loved the beginning and had extremely high hopes but I started enjoying it less and less the more I read. There were still cute scenes but a lot of the time I was frustrated or I didn't really care. Which made me really sad, cause at first I thought I'd give this 5 stars I loved the main characters! I loved them both individually and they were extremely cute together (when they weren't fighting) Charlie is also a really great character. I appreciated that Max was such a big part of the story, since I feel like in most books the child is just kinda there. I did not like Stephen and it annoyed me how easily Kate let him back into their lifes. He was basically only there to have fun with Max but wasn't there for any of the hard parts of parenthood. It all happened kinda fast and since I'm a huge fan of slowwww burn I didn't appreciate that. At the same time it didn't bother me as much as usual. Multiple months pass in this book, so things aren't happening unrealistically fast, but it still felt like it. Probably because it kinda felt like scenes were cut out and it just jumped from one intersection to another and didn't really feel that smooth. The ending was also a little weird and once again felt like things were cut out. Sometimes I had trouble following what was happening but maybe that's on me because I wasn't concentrated enough. The fights and arguments they had (especially the first one) seemed kinda pointless to me and I didn't really see the reason. Especially since they made up right away and never discussed it again.
