Haly's traveling circus no longer has the allure of its glamorous past, but it still has one main attraction: the Flying Graysons, a family of trapeze artists featuring a teenage Dick Grayson. The only problem is that Dick loathes spending his summers performing tired routines for dwindling crowds.
When the Lost Carnival opens nearby and threatens to pull Haly's remaining customers, Dick is among those drawn to its nighttime glow. Aufmachung Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir gut. Er ist recht kantig und die Charaktere sind sehr individuell gestaltet. Am coolsten ist aber die farbliche Gestaltung, je nachdem an welchem Ort sich die Handlung gerade befindet. Fazit Lost Carnival war mein erster Comic seit.... ich glaube überhaupt. Und ich gestehe gleichzeitig keine Ahnung vom DC Universe zu haben. Daher habe ich diese Geschichte unabhängig von Verstrickungen oder anderen Geschichten gelesen. Das Lesen hat mir Spaß gemacht. Die Story ist für ca. 13 Jährige gemacht und daher für mich leicht durchschaubar gewesen, zumindest teilweise. Aber das hat dem keinen Abbruch getan, denn ich bin ein Fan von Carnival Geschichten und fand diese hier sehr gut umgesetzt. Auch wenn die Charaktere etwas blass blieben, so habe ich dennoch mit ihnen mitgefühlt. Es gibt ausreichend Action, die Story schreitet dynamisch voran, allgemein ist das Gesamtpaket gut. Ich habe keine Vergleichsmöglichkeiten, kann mir den aber als guter Einsteigercomic vorstellen. Dennoch bleibe ich wohl doch eher meinen Manga treu.
