Oh my, where to start in this hell-bound part of the series? Adrien's employee, Angus, finds himself in trouble with his "friends" who turn out to be members of an occult group who just happen to murder people whom they consider a threat. And if that devilish plot is not enough to cloud your senses you get Lisa wanting to re-marry all of a sudden, her beau Dauten wanting to bond with Adrien, his three daughters considering him their new brother, plenty of weird substitutes for Angus, a potential new love interest, and the love-interest Jake O'Rudeness who makes a huge decision regarding his future. Give the devil his due - that book was quite a ride.
Jake is an ass, but he's supposed to be. At this point I am so invested in this series and I love Adrien and the writing. My heart ached for him. The case was really interesting, even though I seem to be in a minority here. The only thing that bothers me is the excessive drinking. Alcohol gets mentioned in almost every scene, people have bars at home, drink to every meal or when they're just sitting together. Adrien has a heart condition and I'm pretty sure he shouldn't drink that regularly.
