5 "Gray loves Kai" ☆ Utterly delightful!! I haven't read through a book in one piece in some time but I simply could not stop. A very fluffy, best friends to lovers romance between stuck in an emotionless life and to-do lists Gray and his life-loving friend Kai. (Best) friends to lovers is not my go-to trope as I constantly fear the destruction of the friendship, and a part of me still feels like people think a friendship is less of a relationship if you don't add sex. But Briar Prescott makes no mistake for me when she gives those two times to develop while keeping the banter, the comfort, the sheer happiness of their friendship at the core. Prescott is very much forcing her way into my favourites' list. I enjoy her writing, in particular her bantery dialogues way too much.
