Häufig mag ich Bücher aus einem anderen Blickwinkel nicht, weil es mir dann wie eine Wiederholung verkommt, von einer Geschichte,die ich schon kenne. Hier aber hat man Des, lovely Des, viel besser kennengelernt und erfahren, wie seine Jugend und sein Weg zum König aussah. Und als er Callie dann trifft, ist man so hingerissen von seinen Gefühlen zu ihr und steckt auf einmal wieder mittendrin. Außerdem fand ich es schön, dass es diesmal nicht nur um das übliche Mate-Band und Schicksal geht, sondern dass es wirkliche echte Liebe zwischen den beiden ist. Für 5 Sterne ha mir die Spannung gefehlt, aber emotional hat es mich wieder total abgeholt.
This doesn't bring the story forward. This is Des' story. His childhood and everything up until the ending of the second book. It was nice to get his story but the thing with telling the same story from a second perspective is that you are telling it twice. So all the scenes we already knew from Callies's perspective seemed a little (okay, very) repetetive. Everything up to the point where he met Callie was great, I flew through that. Everything after that... Not so much. I'll see what the last installment brings.
