Very nice teaser! I've got a feeling for Ahdieh's writing and now I want more ...

"A young girl who volunteered to die was an unusual girl indeed."

When I found out that this novella was free on Amazon, I literally sprinted to my laptop and got it immediately. The Wrath and the Dawn was one of my most favourite books of 2015, if not of all time, and Khalid is definitely my favourite character in the series. Seeing that there is a novella from his point of view just made me super excited. And I wasn't disappointed one bit. This story was short, but fantastic. I always imagined how this whole situation would be for Khalid, and hearing all his thoughts now and seeing the things through his eyes was just PERFECT. I cannot wait for the next novella!

"Why would such a girl have cause to hate Khalid with such fire? The fire of a rising" Quiero más!!! ha sido super corto pero me ha gustado estar en la cabeza de Khalid ojalás hubiera sido mas largo y ver como piensa más lo que me deja es con más ganas de que llegue ya el segundo libro <33333333

I didn't expect this to be any less good than The Wrath & the Dawn itself ... BUT IT WAS TOO SHORT. By the time I got into this, I was already done - that's the only thing that disturbed me. Other than that it was enjoyable and definitely interesting to read out of Khalid's POV and why he seemed so interested in Shazi! Also, the writing is incredibly beautiful so there's also that!

Do not fear what the setting sun may bring. Where there is a setting sun, there is also a rising one.

I love Khalid so so so much! I love to take a peek inside his mind, the boy behind the monster/Caliph! It lets the reader know his pain and his troubles!

YES - The first encounter from Khalids perspective! I really enjoyed it!
