Guter sehr düsterer Krimi
Im Dritten Teil der Harry Bosch Serie gibt es mal wieder ganz viel Insiderwissen zu Los Angeles und Details zur Polizeiarbeit. Die Thematik ist sehr düster, aber die Einbindung eines Gerichtsverfahrens war etwas Neues für die Serie. Auch die Spannung kommt nicht zu kurz, auch wenn das Ende für mein Empfinden etwas hätte verfeinert werden können.
Auf der Jagd nach dem „Puppenmörder“, einem brutalen Serienkiller, erhält Harry Bosch den Anruf einer Prostituierten, die behauptet, dem Täter nur knapp entkommen zu sein. Bosch fährt sofort zum Haus des Verdächtigen und stellt ihn. Als der Mann – trotz eindeutiger Warnung – unter ein Kissen greift, schießt Bosch. Der vermeintliche Killer stirbt. Vier Jahre später muss sich Bosch vor Gericht verantworten: Der „Puppenmörder“ war unbewaffnet. Doch dann taucht eine weitere Leiche auf – die „Frau im Beton“, getötet auf dieselbe Weise wie die Opfer des angeblichen Mörders. Hat Bosch den Falschen erschossen?
