Meinung: Lila Crayne ist Schauspielerin und mit einem einflussreichen Regisseur verlobt, der gerade an einer Neuverfilmung von „Zärtlich ist die Nacht“ arbeitet. Um sich auf ihre Rolle vorzubereiten, beginnt Lila eine Therapie, doch schon bald wird klar, dass sie sich dabei viel tiefer mit ihrer eigenen, traumatischen Vergangenheit auseinandersetzen muss, als sie zunächst ahnt. Ihr Therapeut wird zur Schlüsselfigur in einem gefährlichen Spiel, das zunehmend außer Kontrolle gerät. Mehr möchte ich an dieser Stelle nicht verraten, das müsst ihr selbst lesen! Der Schreibstil ist flüssig, intensiv und mitreißend, und ich hatte beim Lesen wirklich große Freude. Die Geschichte behandelt sensible, aber wichtige Themen wie Macht und Missbrauch, ohne dabei an Spannung zu verlieren. Die Charaktere sind vielschichtig und authentisch, man fühlt und leidet mit Lila mit. Besonders gefallen haben mir die unerwarteten Wendungen, die die Handlung immer wieder in neue Richtungen lenken, und das starke, stimmige Ende, das keine Fragen offenlässt. Eine Leseempfehlung
