If you ever thought "I'd like hurt/comfort, but without the comfort", this is the book for you! I have to give her that, the author managed to actually make me feel heartbroken when Seth broke up with her, almost as bad as it really happened to me. But that's not an enjoyable feeling, especially not when it's at the end of the book without a happy end. I wouldn't even call it a cliffhanger. I'm really over them, over their relationship now. I hope they don't get together in the end. She can date Carter or, more likely, Dante, I don't care, but as the reader, I've never seen her actually happy with Seth for a damn second. They're both just miserable. And I haven't even watched them falling for each other, since they were just suddenly together in the last book. So yeah, their whole relationship just SUCKS. And I have to vent about the break up. It's insane to me that he broke up with her on christmas, without planning to, because she found out he cheated on her with a friend of hers. Yeah she'd said it was okay to have sex, but he did specifically tell her it wasn't casual sex, so it's cheating. And the nerve of him to break up by hinting at it being more than sex, more and more, until it clicked for Georgina that this was him breaking up and dating the other girl instead. What a D*CK. Not that I like Georgina much more, she's worse, but now I dislike both of them. Throughout all the books so far, the same shit happens between them, basically. He's always asking for her to communicate, and she goes and does the exact opposite. He tells her he wants to know about supernatural stuff if it's regarding her, especially if it's stuff that bothers her, and she goes out of her way to keep it secret. She never learns, never changes her behaviour. No wonder he broke up. I might have to listen to the next book too, because I can't let this end like this. But damn, I really don't want them to get together by now. They're not good for each other. I really hope someone else turns out as the actual MMC.
Suffice to say this did _not_ help me fix my sleep-schedule post Nightshift... It made staying up way to easy instead. This one had me hooked once more, where book 2 was solid, but less tempting to continue reading. While the twists were still somewhat foreseeable, I think they were set up well enough in the story that I didn't mind at all. I'm curious for the next book although I suppose I'll have to practice some restraint. Ironic, after reading a series about hope, sin and repentance.
