Er ist Gott, du bist Gott, ich bin Gott - und so ganz gegrokt habe ich das Buch auch nicht.
(Dies ist Buch 4 Der "Bücher, die meine Freunde bewegt haben"-Challenge, die ich zu meinem Geburtstag begonnen habe) Schon bei den Schlümpfen hat es mich wirklich genervt, dass die andauernd Verben durch schlumpfen ersetzen mussten. Hier ist es groken. Das Wort wird auch konsequent nicht erklärt. Sehr unbefriedigend. Das erste Drittel fand ich dennoch sehr cool, ich mochte die Art von Mike und wie er sich auf der Erde versucht einzugewöhnen. Aber je weiter das Buch Fortschritt, desto sektenartiger und esoterischer wurde das Buch und hat mich teilweise wirklich gestört. Die Art und Weise, wie mit Sex umgegangen wird, fand ich durchaus spannend, aber in einigen Punkten merkt man auch hier, dass das Buch schon älter ist. Gerade im Bereich gleichgeschlechtlicher liebe und trans Personen ist das Buch nicht gut. Und trotzdem fand ich das Buch nixht ganz schlecht. Es war anders. Sehr anders. Ich bin froh es gelesen zu haben, aber nochmal brauche ich es nicht.
Einfach nicht für mich.
Ich wollte es unbedingt lesen, weil es als Klassiker immer wieder meine Wege gekreuzt hat. Aber nach knapp über 400 Seiten ohne klaren Spannungsbogen konnte ich einfach nicht mehr... Das Buch ist bestimmt voller progressiver Ideen für seine Zeit. Aber für mich war es einfach zu zäh, zu langsam. Asimovs Foundation Trilogie zum Vergleich hat mich nie gelangweilt. Kalt war die Dynamik nicht konstant aber es wurde einfach eine Geschichte geschaffen, die so grundsätzlich interessant war, dass man weiter und weiter lesen wollte. Das habe ich hier vermisst und am Ende einfach abgebrochen.
Die erste Hälfte des Buches fand ich sensationell spannend. Eine spannende Mischung aus Science-Fiction und Polit-Thriller. Ab der Mitte wurde es dann aber leider sehr religös und esoterisch und da hat mich das Buch leider komplett verloren und wurde sehr quälend. Und wenn ich noch einmal das Wort "groken" groken muss, groke ich aus!
