The overall plot isn’t bad, but the issue with Kirk and yet another woman is just as annoying as Sulu and his two women. There’s nothing funny in those men being idiots that are controlled by their genitalia - this is only to amuse male readers, by making women more of a sidekick or even an object. And worse - the Illustrators made sure to even objectify the women more by showing them in close to no clothes - Kirk‘s love interest even with one breast out in the open while swimming. That Sam T. Cogley‘s name was misspelled over and over again was - in comparison - just a baseline annoyance. And that they forgot to address the destruction of a Starfleet ship, murder of most of the crew and trespassing on Federation territory in the trial (when they spoke about Genesis) didn’t make it any better.
