Sie beschließen gemeinsam den Inhalt mit nach London zu nehmen und das Geheimnis zu bewahren. Doch in London angekommen, scheint es sie direkt einzuholen… Offen stehende Türen, mysteriöse Anrufe, Verfolgungen durch die Stadt. Dieser Psychothriller hält die Spannung hoch und kommt dabei fast vollständig ohne Blutvergießen aus. Dabei wird vermehrt darauf angespielt das Verhalten der Protagonisten zu hinterfragen. Ab welchem Zeitpunkt läuft es aus dem Ruder? Was ist richtig? Was ist falsch? Was kann man nachvollziehen.. Catherine Steadman zeichnet ein Bild einer Londoner Kleinfamilie, deren Leben nicht optimal aber dennoch gut verläuft und die auf die Probe gestellt werden durch den Fund unter Wasser! Super spannend und gleichzeitig sehr persönlich wird der Leser mitgenommen.
The starting of this book was super interesting, and it definitely made me start to guess what's going to happen in the book. However, it was not what I expected, and also not what I usually enjoy in my Thrillers/Mysteries (though can you call it that?) I feel like the book was marketed as something which is was not, and that was ultimately also what let me down. Had I know what kind of book or story/mystery this was, I probably would not have picked it up in the first place. The mystery was lackluster, and I saw the "reveal" in the end coming from the start. There is nothing I can really say that I found particularly amazing or spectacular about this book. For me, it was just meh.
