I expected something, but not that. Holy fuckery that was one hell of a ride.

War is hell. Now, I must have had like 20 quotes marked to head up this review. All of them either really funny or just epic. But I went for this one because it is so effin true. That aside, I can only stress how much I loved this book. Just like the other books in this series, it is funny and thrilling and magical... It is even darker than the last one. There are two small things that I maybe could start to rant about. I won't start a rant but I will mention them: The first issue would be that there isn't as much interaction between Skulduggery and Valkyrie as in the previous books which for me make a huge part of why I really fell in love with these books. It's still there but not in the quantity we're used to. The second issue is Ghastly's death. It's one half of a sentence and that's it. It's mentioned later on but Ghastly deserved more . Also, this book cemented my shipping of Valkyrie and Skulduggery even more... HOW COULD I FORGET THE KISS?! It was just Darquesse and Skulduggery and just in a vision but... my fangirl heart must have skipped a beat on this one. All in all, this series will forever be a favorite of mine and I can only recommend starting it if you haven't already.

Really enjoyed this book of the Skulduggery Pleasant series. It was really thrilling and with a, at least for me, unexpected plot twist.
