This is my second time reading this book and I still loved everything about it. It's very fast paced, the story only takes place over a few days and even though it might seem unrealistic this much happens in such a short time but to me it makes sense. I think it's part of the thrill that you can feel while reading. I know technically that the story is set in the future but I found many parallels to our real world. The second time even more than the first time. It makes you think about how we treat certain groups of people in our society and how unfair life can be. Some scenes including one certain character made me feel physically sick and angry. Some books you just read, this book made me think a lot, this book has the chance to raise awareness and yes the story is fictional and very YA but if you pay close attention to the world building and the storyline apart from the romance it blows your mind. How big the gap between privileged and unprivileged people can be and what this gap can cause. Quote p. 350 "Our society is rotten; rotten to the core. Our government, our country, has forced thousands of people into poverty and slavery. Denied them an education, denied them food, denied them lives. We've let them convince us that they deserve it. But they don't. They have hearts and souls and brains, just like us. Now, the responsibility is ours"
