Tropes: – dark romance – Medusa retelling – revenge – „touch her and I‘ll unalive you“ – sapphic – found family
I don‘t think I can describe how much this book gives me and what it means to me, but I‘ll try. ‘Serpentine Valentine‘ is a love letter to literature while at the same time tackling so many important topics, and telling such a powerful love story. Each chapter starts of with a quote, most of the times from classics – and even though I‘m admittedly not a classics reader, it‘s perfect for the story and the vibe. The book tackles serious issues like misogyny, by men and women, injustice, stereotypes etc., and the way it does that blew my mind. Lex is definitely the character I identified with the most. A lot of her thoughts and beliefs could have been plugged right out of my head. In a way her character held a mirror up to me, and I love that. And I get Luna‘s point of view too, I really do – doing the morally right and not get anywhere, or rather crossing that line? It‘s a fascinating question, and I won‘t spoiler you for how it plays out, because in my opinion this is one of the best parts of this book. As well as Luna‘s and Lex‘s character growth. Their chemistry is everything, and the spice is amazing. Lex‘s and Luna‘s connection is palpable from the very start. Something I also appreciate is that Pierce, Luna‘s bf at the beginning of the book, isn‘t painted as some villain, even though he has his stupid-jock-moments, and I also appreciate how smooth Luna‘s outing with him is. 5(+)/5⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

Woooow!! A Lesbian Medusa Retelling 🐍 *Triggerwarnungen bitte beachten*
Absolute Herbst TBR Empfehlung 🖤🍂🐍
