Description
Though she should be in hiding, Avry will do whatever she can to support Tohon's opponents. Including infiltrating a holy army, evading magic sniffers, teaching forest skills to soldiers and figuring out how to stop Tohon's most horrible creations yet: an army of the walking deadhuman and animal alike and nearly impossible to defeat.
War is coming and Avry is alone. Unless she figures out how to do the impossible again.

As expected, I didn't like this book as much as the first one. I somehow wasn't able to connect with Avry, I can't even explain why. Nor am I able to feel her relationship with Kerrick. I wasn't anxious for them or enjoyed their moments together. In fact, I really didn't care about their relationship. The story itself had a lot of potential and really good ideas, but it got tiresome really fast. Like there was a twist at the end of almost every chapter and at some point it simply felt exhausting. Plot twists keep the story gripping, yes, but as every stylistic device they have to be handled properly.
