From Skeptic to Sobbing

I went into this book with pretty low expectations since I’d picked it up for free during a Stuff Your Kindle Day. At first, I wasn’t fully convinced—but it didn’t take long before the story completely pulled me in. The emotional buildup between the main characters had me so invested. I kept thinking, “just say it already,” because I was rooting for them so hard to finally admit their feelings and be together. From around 70% to 90% of the book, I was genuinely emotional—tearing up on and off because it all felt so real. What really stood out to me was how beautifully the author captured that transition from teenage years into adulthood—the shifting friendships, the uncertainty, the intensity of emotions, and how overwhelming everything can feel during that time. By the end, I was fully hooked, and I already know I’ll be continuing with the series.

Unexpected as fuck!

I started this book half a year ago, the start of it being a tad bit slow and all bubbly tennie girly not being exactly to my taste. I've decided to finish it just to tick it off my list, so I continued. And holy moly... At around 40% in it got me hooked—it had me in a freaking chokehold. I wanted so badly for the MCs to finally confess and be together, and I actually cried on and off through 70%-92% of the book. How the author described the time of change, how teenage friends are getting adults and what happens during the time and how there's just so many emotions going on—it moved me, because I had the feeling FMC shared some similarity with my own brain back in the days. It was also interesting to learn what was trendy back then in the USA, so that was cool, too! I am definitely continuing this series, but I'm a little afraid of it being a trilogy. That usually means there's some other heartbreak, and I don't know if I can do this with this particular couple.
