“Funny, vulnerable, and relatable. Mack writes hot, steamy stories interweaved with real, raw emotions perfectly. Play With Me is a 10 out of 10.” —Hannah Grace, New York Times bestselling author of Wildfire and Icebreaker
The second book in the globally popular Playing for Keeps series.
He’s found the perfect person—but she’s the only one he can’t be with…
Garrett Andersen knows that playing professional hockey requires absolute dedication to the rules. There’s just one rule he’s finding difficult to follow: stay away from his captain’s younger sister.
As a professional dancer, Jennie Beckett knows what it takes to excel. She prides herself on being every bit as confident and bold as her brother, sassy as hell, and the only person in charge of her pleasure. No wonder Garrett can’t stay away from her—even if he forgets how to form sentences whenever she’s around.
Jennie would rather avoid her brother’s teammate, especially after several embarrassing run-ins, but suddenly they’re neighbors. And as the connection between them grows, Garrett and Jennie decide to have some fun, no strings attached. Between their busy schedules and her brother’s disapproval, they know keeping things casual and low-key is the smartest play.
But what if their feelings get in the way? After all, they’re only supposed to be playing with each other…

Okay sooo… second book of the series is done!! I’m loving this Series so far. This review has Spoilers‼️. First we have Garrett, a very good hockey player on the first line. One of Carters (captain of the Vipers) best friends. Then we have Jennie, Carters sister and a very good dancer. I honestly love their friendships so much, the little group that found each other is just honestly so cute(Carter,Olivia,Jennie,Garrett,Cara,Emmett,Adam,Jaxon) and don’t forget the families and Hank and Dublin(the dog)! Grief is a very big part of life, and this book mentions it well. Jennie and Carters father passed a long time ago and she has a very hard time to deal with it. Her princess bubblegum (a bunny plushy that her father got her) got lost one time and it broke her because it’s a thing she still has left from her father and it was honestly just so cute when Garrett found it and gave it back to her as a present🥹. Generally, their chemistry was so good!! It started as friends, friends with benefits and honestly just evolved into so much more. It had everything in it, Fluff, smut, Angst and I had much fun reading it! Garrett and Jennie finding each other and just loving each other purely is so cute. Carters and Olivia life was also crazy with the pregnancy😭, she finally gave birth and it’s a girl! It’s so cute that they named her Ireland (Hanks love that died a long time ago). It was honestly so funny how Carter was freaking out that he was going to be a girl dad🤣. Him and his 'Girl dad/Dilf and Family' shirts,we love a proud father🙏. Simon (Jennie’s asshole dance partner who kissed her without consent twice and was so annoying) honestly pissed me the fuck off and it made me so happy when Garrett punched him💪. Even though a lot of stuff was random and kinda weird, it makes Becka Macks books special HAHAH. Emily (Garrets and Jennie’s neighbor) and Jennie quite build a friendship which was honestly so cute. Even though Emily and Garrett hooked up one time before the thing with Jennie started, she was very nice and very supportive of Jennie&Garrett and turned out to be quite a good friend, especially when she slapped Kevin(Jennie’s asshole Ex)🙈. I have a feeling that the next book is going to be Adam since this poor guy still didn’t find his love (and I have a feeling it’s maybe going to be Emily?🫣) because it mentioned that they both work/deal with kids. Overall, I really liked this book! Would recommend (:

DNF… the characters were acting like 16 year olds instead of people in their mid twenties! what do you mean you flirted with other people to get him jealous? how old are you? TFFFF jenny was whiny and annoying. garrett was okay but i still didn’t like the book i’ve read around 300 pages and was asking myself why it’s still not ending and realised that i just hit the 49% mark
No, because I'm so disappointed... this is the first Ice-Hockey book I hate with a passion. I didn't think I could cringe as much as I did reading this. Sometimes a little cringe is good, even romantic but this was not it. Goodreads rating fooled me into believing this would actually be a decent book. Spoiler alert: It was not!! Starting of with the two SUPPOSED TO BE ADULTS Mcs. One was an idiot who was so "goofy and funny and golden retrieverie" who seems to have some serious issues because why would you invest so much into a girl like Jennie. Jennie, Jennie.... I just hate when I can't stand the female protagonist of a book. She was a whiny, annoying, self centered Disney adult who had a very bad addiction to sex toys and naming them something like "indiana bones"????????????? Also, Garret had to carry her stupid ass everywhere, had to put up with her moodswings, her very, very badly written trauma and the second he had a problem with his family she turned away because he was moody and not giving her the attention she so desperately needs? "you said he wanted me too" he even still reassured her " you're nothing but perfect,Jennie. - If that were true, you wouldn't be leaving" Miss girl, go touch some grass. His mother can't find his father who seemed to have relapsed and he needs to take a flight to his family? Are you really so annoying, that's your way of being always there for him? Talking about toxic....(He apologized, not her) Both of them kept talking about being best friends. For that to be true they did a shit load of not talking and miscommunicating. Side note, I hated every other character too. Also big spoiler warning the smut was bad, the toy kink was overused, they didn't have sex till the last couple 50-100 pages and this could've easily been about every single other sport that's played in a team. Carter, pls stop sexualizing your pregnant wife. One redemption star for the blind man and the dogs.
