Description

I made my choice. I took the hard way out. Now all of our fates are riding on the dice I’m about to throw and luck never was on our side.

I was whole once, with my boys in this slice of paradise we’d carved out for ourselves, but in the time that we were parted we grew up. Grew apart. And as much as I might have yearned to reclaim that girl with the sand between her toes and the sun on her cheeks, it’s time I admit that I spent too long in the shadows to ever truly be her again.

My heart may be breaking for the men I left behind, but I know that I can make that pain count for something, because I’m no fool believing the pretty promises of a mad man.

No. I’m the assassin he just opened his fortress to. And now that I’m inside, I intend to repay him for every moment of suffering he has inflicted upon me and my boys.

Shawn Mackenzie thought he killed me once upon a time. Now this dead girl is back to return the favour.

***Trigger Warning: please be aware this book contains dark scenes of sexual assault and rape. This is NOT done by any of the love interests***

Ich dachte es wäre endlich zuende. Aber Shawn überlebt alles. Alle reden immer davon wie sie ihn beenden aber nichts passiert. Sie sind Gangleader… wo sind die alle? Ich will nur noch wissen wie es endet.

Shawn is a cockroach I have really come to believe that Shawn is a cockroach who outlives doomsday. It sure is taking a heck of a lot of time for the Harlequin & Damned Man crews to snuff him out and take him out. I had already decided I was going to take a break from the drawn out series after I finished this book, then it went and left me on a major cliffhanger I cannot ignore! In this book, I still continued to enjoy the characters - I love all of the differences they have & bring to the table to make their little group of five all the more well-rounded. Rogue is becoming less whiny and self-sacrificial and I enjoy her much more in this capacity than in previous books. JJ is still my fav out of the guys, but Maverick is a close second with his busted give-a-d@mn yet overly protective attitude towards Rogue. All of them have their swoonworthy moments, tbh. I wish we had seen Fox finally man up in this book and try to be with Rogue & the rest of the guys, but I keep waiting to see if this is ever going to happen - especially after the cliffhanger. Ugh
