**Revised and Expanded 2021 Edition**

Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster brimming with laughter, tears, and slow-burn sexiness in this new adult romance that tackles the vulnerability of love with humor and heart.
Ryder
Ever since she sat next to me in class and gave me death eyes, Willa Sutter’s been on my shit list. Why she hates me, I don't know. What I do know is that Willa is the kind of chaos I don’t need in my tidy life. She’s the next generation of women’s soccer. Wild hair, wilder eyes. Bee-stung lips that should be illegal. And a temper that makes the devil seem friendly.
She’s a thorn in my side, a menacing, cantankerous, pain-in-the-ass who’s turned our Business Mathematics course into a goddamn gladiator arena. I'll leave this war zone unscathed, coming out on top…And if I have my way with that crazy-haired, ball-busting hellion, that will be in more than one sense of the word.
Willa
Rather than give me the lecture notes I missed like every other instructor I’ve had, my asshole professor tells me to get them from the silent, surly flannel-wearing mountain man sitting next to me in class. Well, I tried. And what did I get from Ryder Bergman? Ignored. What a complete lumbersexual neanderthal. Mangy beard and mangier hair. Frayed ball cap that hides his eyes. And a stubborn refusal to acknowledge my existence.
I’ve battled men before, but with Ryder, it's war. I’ll get those notes and crack that Sasquatch nut if it’s the last thing I do, then I’ll have him at my mercy. Victory will have never tasted so sweet.
Only When It’s Us is a frenemies-to-lovers, college sports romance about a women’s soccer star and her surly lumberjack lookalike classmate, complete with a matchmaking professor, juvenile pranks, and a smoking slow burn. This standalone is the first in a series of novels about a Swedish-American family of five brothers, two sisters, and their wild adventures as they each find happily ever after.

this is one of the books you have to experience yourself. ITS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER OF THE BEST KIND. Probably the BEST slow burn I’ve read in a damn while. The tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife. I was desperately waiting for those fools to finally give in to their feelings and emotions and also the damn sexual tension that nearly caused me death. It’s a constant push and pull between a heartbreaking emotional journey and flaming hot teasing and banter. and honorary shoutout to my book bestie Luce that recommended me this book and is the cause of my newest obsession: Ryder. Stellan. Bergmann. Your honor, I love him

Frenemies to lovers sports romance I really loved this book. It was my first Chloe Liese book and I found it really refreshing. Also the problems she handles in her Story. It was the first one I read coping with hearing issues. This was really new and interesting to me. It was great to learn how they communicate and overcome issues/ misunderstandings. The writing was really good to read, I read this in a few days. I loved the soccer Topic. I like how Willa and Ryder met and how they keep getting into hot situation with many almost kissing . It was also great to get to know the siblings... can't wait for the following books and their stories.

I went into this but not really knowing that it was about a disabled main character and that's my fault but also it was really interesting. I also thought that was very interesting that for once the sport aspect of the romance was from the girl. So this is the story of Willa, who is a college student and she plays soccer for her university. Because she has some classes in which kind of struggling and to make up for that some of her teachers give her extra documents, extra help. But in this one class the teacher tells her to go fetch the document from one of the other students, Ryder. And when she asks him for the document he does not reply. Turns out Ryder isn't a d*ck, he's just deaf but willa doesn't know it. So they kind of like each other because of this miscommunication, but with the help of there meddling teacher, they get paired up for the grade of the semester. They have to work together as a team and work out their issues. I really like that book, first of all, because Willa isn't your usual female main character. She struggled to deal with her anger, that was a big part of the plot and of her relationship with Ryder and I really think we don't see enough of that in female characters in Romance. So that was really refreshing. I also really enjoyed watching Ryder evolve, it was kind of in a "she's all that" type of way but also not and it was also very valid. All in all strong point of his book is the character development. Not to say I disliked the plot but the plot is very character development focused. I also really liked the side characters, the mentoring teacher who is actually the brother-in-law what is really nice. I mean obviously it was a nice but it was a nice way to move the plot along. I've already added the next book in the series to my TBR.

This is not going to be a lengthy review, let me say this already. I was in a massive book ditch because of several books in a row being a disappointment so I searched for a bigger project to get me out of it and for a light entertainment read for my nightstand, this is what only when it’s us was intended for and it’s pretty much what it did: entertain me for a while, it didn’t make me angry or annoyed me so I’d say this was a success. I love how Chloe Liese includes disabilities in her books and offers representation, here done with a hearing impairment, which I hadn’t yet come across in a main character of a book. I would have wished for the happenings in the later stages of the story to have unfolded in a different way or be more of a bigger topic than it was, I still like the representation though. The unfortunate thing for me is stumbling in books with cancer as a main part of the plot but that is no fault of any author so even if it’s not my favourite thing to read, it doesn’t impact my rating of this. What does, however, is having to read soccer at least a hundred times (56 is almost 100) when referring to what everyone knows is football, but that may be the European speaking. Unacceptable. The football part is surprisingly absent during the plot line, I do understand if some readers might be bored because there is not too much happening at all times, that’s true. If you’re looking for a more plotty book this might not be the choice for you. Ryder as a character was enjoyable, Willa a bit less so, but the sidekicks make me want to pick up the next book, too. Entertained? Check. Will I remember any of this in a year? Highly unlikely. 3.75 Stars
