Drachenreiter und Vampire, ein ungewöhnlicher Fantasy-Mix!
Ich hab die Geschichte gerade beendet und muss sagen: Ich bin echt positiv überrascht 😄🐉 Was ich vorher absolut nicht wusste: Das Buch basiert ursprünglich auf einer Draco-und-Hermine-Fanfictiom 😅 Und als jemand, der genau solche Fanfictions liebt, sind mir direkt einige Parallelen aufgefallen. Klar, vieles wurde umgeschrieben und angepasst, aber hin und wieder gibt es manche Stellen, wo man sich denkt: Okay… das kommt mir bekannt vor 👀✨ Die Story selbst fand ich aber richtig stark: Medra Pendragon als Drachenreiterin an einer Akademie voller Vampire und Seuchengeborene🩸 Allein das Setting ist schon mega spannend 🧛♂️🐲 Sie kommt als Außenseiterin an und muss sich ihren Platz erkämpfen, mit allen Vorteilen, aber eben auch vielen Nachteilen, die ihre besondere Stellung mit sich bringt. Was mir besonders gefallen hat: Das Worldbuilding am Anfang 🙌 Es wird sich Zeit genommen, alles zu erklären und einen wirklich in die Welt reinzuziehen, ohne dass es langweilig wird. Gerade bei so komplexen Settings ist das echt Gold wert. Und ja, das Buch ist definitiv nicht 08/15 😏 Es gibt einige düstere und „beißige“ Inhalte, die man so nicht unbedingt aus typischer Mainstream-Fantasy kennt. Das hat es für mich nochmal interessanter gemacht. Natürlich hatte ich als Potterhead öfter diese Momente von „Ahh, DAS erinnert mich an XY!“ 😂 Aber ehrlich gesagt hat mich das nicht gestört, eher im Gegenteil. Fazit: Hat mir richtig gut gefallen 💯 Ich freue mich mega, dass es schon einen zweiten Band gibt und kann es kaum erwarten, noch tiefer in diese Welt aus Drachenreitern, Vampiren und Seuchengeborenen einzutauchen 😍📚

Das Buch fing meiner Meinung nach sehr gut an! Man wurde direkt in die Geschichte geworfen und es fesselte einen sofort. Jedoch tat ich mich manchmal mit dem Schreibstil ein bisschen schwer. Die Ideen sind an sich gut, es ist eine allgemeine Neugier vorhanden, jedoch gefiel mir die Umsetzung nicht immer. Zwischendurch war manchmal die Luft raus und es war nicht ganz so einfach weiterzulesen. Ich persönlich liebe Enemies to Lovers, habe aber Mühe damit, wenn bei den Gefühlen der betroffenen lange von Verachtung etc. gesprochen wird - sich das Blatt aber auf einmal und sehr schnell wendet. Es benötigt viel Schreibkunst den Weg von Hass zu Liebe gut zu schreiben, jedoch hat mir hierbei einiges gefehlt. An sich fand ich das Buch jedoch gar nicht schlecht. Es bleibt spannend wie es weitergeht und ich bin offen dafür das weitere Band ebenfalls zu lesen.

Ich bin ohne Erwartung an dieses Buch gekommen und man wird sofort in die Handlung geschmissen- von Seite 1 spannend, der Bogen steigt im Lauf der Geschichte immer mehr. Vampire, Fae, Starke Charaktere, fesselnder Schreibstil und absoluter Cliffhanger am Ende - ich stürze mich nun direkt auf Band 2
Harry Potter + Vampires + Fourth Wing
I AM A LEAN MEAN READING MACHINE. Successfully finished this book before the book club's discussion. I can't lie I was really excited to read this book, it's been on my tbr for ages. I mean, a fae stuck in a universe full of only vampires and mythical dragons? Hooked me up instantly. <spoiler> It was a bit hard for me to get into everything. There were so many loose thrown in details to the story, some really cool and actually favored the story, some definitely could've been thrown out instead. Blake alone is a very interesting character. I was Team Blake and then not Team Blake and then Team Blake again and then not Team Blake again. I needed more scenes between him and our fmc to develop more tension because all I'm getting are very teeny tiny droplets of those and then all of a sudden everything got a little too heavy a little too fast (but also a little too slow because I have zero patience). In the end Blake got so obsessed with the mating bond. In the beginning, I was led to believe it was mostly his uncle's drive but with those last 10 pages, I'm not even so sure anymore. It was kind of hard to be one Medra's side. I have no idea why. She's apparently this all strong and powerful of royal fae bloodline but this was severely under-developed as she suddenly acceptedly go to this academy. I feel like the only person who was actually mean to hear was only Regan. Blake just kinda ignored her within 75% of the book, yet Medra chose to see this as bullying her? I don't know. And then when she started BEGGING the risen Avaris dragon to bond with her.. Meh. That felt so out of character somehow. I feel so bad that Medra's mom is now basically trapped inside that knife. But her storyline is basically only there so that us readers get to see that dragon in the end. Felt ridiculously dry. I don't know. Anywhooo I still loved the whole mixture of Harry Potter, Fourth Wing, Hunger Games vibes it gave me. I'll still pick up the next one, because that ending definitely still has me on its strings. </spoiler>
Es hörte sich so gut an, war aber leider nix für mich. Dieses ganze Mobbing z.B ging mir einfach nur tierisch gegen den Strich. Auch diese klischeehafte eifersüchtige andere Tussi war nur zum Augenverdrehen + noch einige andere Charaktere/Situationen... Für mich hat die Autorin einfach nur versucht verschiedene, bereits erschienene Bücher/Charaktere, zusammen zu werfen und da was passendes draus zu machen...und irgendwie noch Drachen dazu zu packen. Für mich leider nicht gelungen.
A Love-Hate Ride
I was incredibly excited for this book and couldn’t wait to finally read it. Looking back, I’d say I’ve developed a bit of a love-hate relationship with it. At the beginning, I was completely hooked and fully invested in the story. However, the middle part started to lose me. I kept wondering when something significant would finally happen. It felt a bit slow and dragged at times. That being said, the ending definitely picked up the pace again and rekindled my excitement—especially for book two. I absolutely see the potential in this series and truly believe it has the capacity to develop into something amazing. I’ll definitely continue reading to see where it goes.

I don‘t even know where to begin. I loved everything about it. I got fluently into the Story and world building. Liked the writing. Loved the characters and the progression of the Story. It made me emotional, especially at one scene, I wanted to cry. 😭 Just couldn’t believe what was happening…at first I wasn’t sure what to think about Blake…but the more the book progressed the more I started to like him…even if he still kind of messed up for me in the end. 🙈 But reading the end of the book, I see we are in for a hell of a ride in book two!!! I can only recommend this book! 🤭❤️
