Ein Mustread für Piratenfans! 🏴‍☠️

Ich mach es kurz: Es hat so viel Spaß gemacht dieses Buch zu lesen! Wer eine gute leichte Piratenstory mit einem cocky Captain, einer dicken Prise Romance, einem guten Worldbuilding und jeder Menge Abenteuer sucht, wird hier auf jeden Fall fündig. Ich habe das Buch regelrecht inhaliert und direkt den zweiten Band hinterher gelesen. Die Charaktere sind mir sehr ans Herz gewachsen (besonders Declan mit seinem Piratencharm 🏴‍☠️❤️) und ich bin gespannt wie die Geschichte ausgeht. Je nachdem könnte die Reihe eine meiner Topreads diesen Jahres werden. Kann die Bücher wirklich nur empfehlen!! 🥰

Piraten und Fantasy muss ich mehr sagen?!

Ich habe dieses Buch geliebt. Ich meine es hat (fast) alles: eine Female MC rennt von jemanden weg, findet Zuflucht auf einem Piratenschiff, morally grey hot pirate captain mit einem Geheimnis und slowburn romance. Das Buch wird aus drei verschiedenen Perspektiven geschrieben, sodass man verschiedene Handlungsstränge und Gefühle mitbekommt, sowohl auf dem Schiff mit Declan und Aoife als auch auf der Insel Cregah mit Cait. Ich muss allerdings sagen, dass ich Aoife für den Großteil des Buches nicht leiden konnte. Sie ist naive, kann eigentlich nichts, hört nicht was man ihr sagt, denkt ziemlich wenig nach und bringt andere so in Gefahr oder sogar in den Tod. Sie war einfach unbrauchbar. Natürlich muss sie nicht die kämpferische FMC sein, jedoch hatte ich mir ein bisschen mehr von ihr erwartet und finde ihre Entwicklung zu „ok sie wird kompetenter“ doch recht schnell. Sie macht in der kürze der Zeit viel mit, weiß nicht wem sie trauen kann oder was sie machen soll, das spielt natürlich alles eine Rolle, dennoch kam diese Entwicklung nicht stückchenweise, sondern jetzt auf gleich. Aber das gute ist, die Piraten werden dir dein Herz stehlen und haben keine Intention es dir zurückzugeben. Declan und Tommy sind Charaktere, die sich gut ergänzen. Captain Declan ist zwar ein Pirat, aber mit Herz und Gefühlen, die ihn das ein oder andere Mal im Wegstehen. Das Wohl der Crew steht bei ihm über alles, so kehrt er auch an den Ort seiner Kindheit zurück, dort kreuzen sich alle Wege. Die Story und das World Building richtig gut und fesselnd, ich habe das Buch in einem Rutsch gelesen. Es ist ein rasantes Abenteuer, dass Lust auf mehr macht.

On these Black Sands follows 2 people form different sides of this world. The fleeing young heir of the council which rules this world and a fierce, conflicted pirate who will need her to get what he wants. These both main characters, Aoife and Declan worked well together, I really enjoyed their secret moments and chapters. It was always a pleasure follwing their discussions and conversations. However , I don´t like Aoife as single character that much, bc she is way too naive, desparate and I just couldn´t connect with her as person. But all in all she made some progess following the story through the book! Declan .. well Declan. I loved him from the start! He is a morally grey character - a firce, intriguing and conflicted pirate but also a deep minded and big hearted (though he won´t admit it) young man. Declan leads me to another beloved character – his cheeky & funny friend Tommy (#bromance)! He is so adorable, I loved reading about him. He always made me chuckle. I really hope he`ll get some more scenes or even own chapters in the next book. And –maybe thats weird- but I really loved Aoifes mum! Not for her personality, but her character fascinated me and I loved her appperance in the book. It was always interesting when she appeard and stirs up the plot. Though I really like the characters and their acting togehter, I didn´t enjoy the story that much which leads to my 3 Star rating. It took me lots of chapters getting into the story, which was kinda of slow progress for me. This pirate adventure hunt was indeed a good read, but the writing, progess of the story and the actual problems/dangers that come with it weren´t that rousing to me. There were lots of inner monologues which slowed down the book and lots of descriptions that got me out of the story. Summed up I can say that the story wasn´t that exciting to me most of the time, yet I really liked the interaction of the character crew & the slow burn love story of this book! And I think that there is lots of potential for the next book - more secrets to solve, more love story to develope and more to learn about the characters.

Piraten haben mich schon immer fasziniert - und wenn dann ein attraktiver Pirat mit Moral um die Ecke kommt, kann ich nicht anders als ihn zu mögen. Anders sieht’s bei der Hauptcharakterin aus. Sie ist ziemlich naiv und leichtgläubig, hat aber auch eine rebellische Ader, die mich dann doch etwas von ihr überzeugt hat. Das Zusammenspiel der beiden sowie die Story an sich, konnten mich so von sich überzeugen, dass ich das Buch kaum aus der Hand legen konnte.
