This book was 5 stars until like 45% where it lost my interest. It started really strong and just became pretty boring and predictable, sadly. So Kyrian is a Dark-Hunter, a type of vampire slayer, appointed by Artemis, the Goddess, to get the earth rid of Daimons, the equivalent of vampire except the steal human's soul to make their lives longer. Amanda is the power free child of a family of supernatural humans and she's trying to get as far as possible from her family and as close to normality as possible. That's when she gets handcuffed to Kyrian and chased by a Daimon, who thinks she's her sister. Okay, so this book isn't bad, it has really good world building, very original, set within the world of greek mythology inbedded into modern world. I love series focusing on siblings, so that's a good point in my book and I really liked Amanda, she wasn't annoying, she took things in stride. Now, I didn't like the humor. Actually, it isn't that I didn't like it, it's that it was too much of the same. Everyone in this book has the same exact sarcastic type of humor, but all of them are annoyed at each other for being sarcastic. It annoyed me pretty fast. Also, I love book seres centered on siblings, but I think I missed something, because I felt like Amanda didn't have siblings, they were glossed over, even her twin sister. And I now understand that there is another book, prequel to this one and maybe those things are introduced there but this is supposed to be the first book in a series so I was left unsatisfied on that front. I'm sad I couldn't be swept by it all over. It felt pretty predictable and I ended up skimming a lot, which is really sad. I might go back and read the prequel, about Alexander and Grave but I might not.
