My Evil Mother: A Short Story

Meine böse Mutter ist ursprünglich schon im Buch "Hier kommen wir nicht lebend raus veröffentlicht worden!" Da ich es mir über die onleihe ausgeborgt habe - und das andere schon laaaange auf meinem SUB liegen habe - ist mir jetzt kein finanzieller "Schaden" entstanden 😂😅😉 Die Story war etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig (Meine Mutter als "Hexe") und auch sehr kurz - dennoch aufgrund des Schlusses der Autorin und der Kürze gebe ich 3,5 Sterne

Witchcraft, penis collection, superstitions vs. motherly love & protection... "You were such a sensitive child. So easily wounded. So I told you those things. I didn´t want you to feel defenseless in the face of life. Life can be harsh. I wanted you to feel protected, and to know that there was a greater power watching over you. That the Universe was taking a personal interest." "The protector was her, the greater power was her, the Universe that took an interest was her as well; always her." Writing these quotes brings tears to my eyes. I see that motherly love can move mountains, regardless of what others think of one. Expecting a baby, I feel my protective instinct growing exponentially and I am sure that my creativity will spill out of some divine source to come up with some stories to protect the little man wherever necessary. A short-story that I devoured with great appetite.

Quick read für Zwischendurch - typisch Atwood, keine Schnörkel und Erkenntnisse eher auf einer Metaebene. Dennoch immer lehrreich und unterhaltsam.

Schade, dass es nur eine Kurzgeschichte ist

Ich mochte den Schreibstil sehr und auch die Geschichte. Ich wünschte es wäre länger und wir würden mehr über die „mystischen“ Fähigkeiten erfahren
