I've completely forgotten that I had been reading this book over and over when I was a child and by pure coincidence, or more likely fate as I'd say, I've stumbled across it in a thrift shop. So of course I bought it and devoured it within one night as I wallowed in memories. It is such a wholesome story, one I'd definitely give to any child (honestly just any person, really) in my proximity. The story teaches that it's okay to feel whatever it is that one might feel, sorrow, worries, but in the end it will all work out somehow. It's not shy of melancholy and a certain darkness but so overwhelmingly hopeful and beautiful I'll be going to sleep feeling all warm inside now. "I've been calling it Sorrowbird just because it's so black. But its real name might be something completely different." "I don't think I like it," I said. "I do"
