It reconstructs the fragments scattered throughout the work, points to the origin of the individual concepts and their significance for contemporary state theory. Andreas Anter demonstrates how closely Weber follows contemporary thinkers – especially Georg Jellinek and Friedrich Nietzsche – and sharpened and modified their concepts.
