Love, theoretically – Die praktische Belegbarkeit von Liebe

Gerade bin ich wirklich in Ali Hazelwoods Werke vertieft. Die Komplexität und Tiefe der verschiedenen Wissenschaftlichen Materie ist immer wieder faszinierend. Hier hat sie sich wirklich übertroffen. Theoretische Physik gegen Experimentelle Physik war ein Battle das ich nicht erwartet, aber anscheinend gebraucht habe. Spoiler: Mittlerweile bin ich an die Wissenschaftliche Seite der Bücher und das fast schon typische 'he falls first' gewöhnt und ich liebe einfach wie tief und umfassend diese Männer in für sie fremde aber faszinierende Frauen verliebt sind. Einfach komplett verfallen und auf diese absolute, weltverändernde Art und Weise. Die Charaktere sind nahbar auch wenn die Materie kompliziert und verwirrend ist und von Fachwissen durchzogen, aber man fühlt sich beim lesen Seltsamerweise auch schlauer und als hätte man eine Ahnung - wenn ihr versteht was ich meine xD Also für mich auf jeden Fall mit eins ihrer Stärksten Bücher ✨

Ohhh, was für ein tolles Buch! Ich liebe den Schreibstil von Ali Hazelwood total – er ist so witzig und die Gedankengänge der Protagonistin haben mich einfach ständig zum lachen gebracht. 🤭 Ich habe beide Protagonisten unglaublich ins Herz geschlossen und Jack war einfach die absolute Green Flag. Er ist definitiv mein neuer Lieblings-Book-Boyfriend. 💞 Ich freue mich schon riesig darauf, ihre anderen Bücher zu lesen! Und können wir bitte kurz über das Design sprechen? 🥹 Ich liebe das Cover und die handliche Größe des Buches total. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass noch mehr Bücher in diesem süßen Format erscheinen!

I really enjoyed the romantic subplot: the brother of the guy you are fake dating is obsessing over you and turns out to be part of the physics institute you are trying to join. It caught me from the very first page and made me share my excitement in all intense scenes. The academic struggles mentioned and all the politics in between regarding women in science and financial struggles are so real and can’t ever be mentioned enough. As a girl active in the scientific field, it’s sometimes really hard to believe how low the percentage of women is in real life actually is. I mean one would believe that in the 21st century there would be more equality and women wouldn’t have to go through double the work to prove that they are equally as competent, if not more than men. Sticking to science i loved the scientific language that was not only used in chapter names, but also during the whole book to describe the emotional situation of the characters and communicate between the love interests. Now to come to the reason why I only gave this book 4 stars: the “plottwist” with Dr. L. was veryyyyy forseeable. The message that was sent with it however important, there are so many cases of master or phd students who get exploited by their mentors. Another thing I disliked, was the communication between Elsie and Jacks during their intemate scenes. Some would maybe find it relatable that Jack is second guessing so much, but I mean she gave her consent why does he pretend to know whats best for her. It is cute that he is trying to tale care of Elsie but he made his whole job to fix her. Imo its not so romantic and more controlling idk.. After the first third of the book the romance didnt get me anymore and also the climax of the book was more boring and short than expected. I totally encourage the academic topics of the book and the science that was set in focus. I also loved Georges and Elsies relationship and Cece’s reaction the Elsies honesty. But the romance was not it.
