Mein Herz hat geblutet, aber die Story ist zu packend und die Liebesgeschichte zwischen Saffron und Cylvan zu schön, um das Buch wegzulegen.

Gosh, I made it. (And yes, I'm going to read part three - after all, I want to know how the whole thing comes to an end. I'm sure everyone (or at least our protas) will be all happy and stuff and society will be reformed). I don't know if I like this part more than book one. Maybe a little? At least Cylvan's character was now constant and not as changeable as Weather in April. (And so illogical in its inconstancy). Saffron continued to get on my nerves quite a bit. His posturing of "I'm carrying all the weight alone and I'm doing this all by myself and I can't put this on anyone and let anyone know" reminded me repeatedly of a pubescent and stubborn teenager. I also don't understand this cringing love story between the two of them ... this ... "we've known each other for like three minutes now (I'm exaggerating here) and we know we're the love of our lives and I'm going to propose and you're all I need and ugh". Really, I just can't get my head around it, it's all very illogical and incomprehensible to me and therefore not ... um ... I just don't enjoy it? It all seems so overdone and rushed. And the antagonist (and his minions) ... the antagonist ... where do I start? All the actions and the character seem so kindergartenish. I probably wrote like this when I was fourteen and had my characters act like this in my role-plays too. It all just seems very immature. I still like the setting and I also like how much racism and speciesism is pointed out. A few times it really made me sick how much fun the Fey had abusing humans for their games and how they also don't care about the emotions and lives of those very humans. I also find the so-called witch hunt well depicted.
