Die Geschichte spielt im 2. Weltkrieg, mit all den Tiefen die es damals gab. Es ist sehr spannend geschrieben und ich habe es schon mehrfach gelesen, weil mich die Geschichte und die Protagonistin so berühren. Absolutes Lieblingsbuch! "Rachel, mach dich ganz klein! Versteck dich im Schrank unter der Spüle. Und egal was du hörst, ob Rufe oder Schreie - du darfst keinen Mucks von dir geben. Kein Wort, verstanden? Das ist ganz, ganz wichtig. Es geht um dein Leben."
