Nice unexpected plot twists
Witch-hunting in the 21st century? Yeah, I was in the mood for some paranormal romantasy, and Killer Heart did not disappoint. Witches and hunters, enemies-to-lovers vibes, a cursed heart and a deal that’s too tempting to refuse — this had all the right ingredients. The worldbuilding was really interesting. It’s modern-day but layered with supernatural politics, curses, and secret agendas. The whole “witch meets hunter” setup was pretty classic, but the author twisted it just enough to make it fresh. I especially liked how the trust issues between them were so central, but it didn’t feel like your average “I hate you but I secretly want to kiss you” plot. Okay, it kind of was, but it was done in a way that kept me hooked. The plot had some nice turns I didn’t expect — little surprises here and there that kept it from feeling too predictable. The tension? Definitely there. Caleb and the hunter had great chemistry, and I loved their dynamic. That said, what held it back a little for me were the repetitions. I swear if I read “you can’t trust a witch” one more time, I might have tried to curse someone myself. Like, we get it. He’s conflicted. You don’t have to keep hammering the same thought over and over. But overall? Solid romantasy with just enough spice, suspense, and emotion to keep the pages turning. If you like your enemies-to-lovers with a touch of magic and a lot of tension, this one’s worth a read.
