Essays über Kants Schriften, Leben und Wirken bis in die Gegenwart. Kant ist - wie so viele Philosophen - schwer zu lesen und noch schwerer zu verstehen. Dieses Buch schafft (laut Kritiken) Abhilfe. Ich kann dem nur bedingt zustimmen. Vieles ist nicht einfach zu verstehen und manches ist so trocken geschrieben, dass ich nicht immer sicher war, was das Geschriebene bedeuten soll (vielleicht ist es klarer wenn man Philosophie studiert hat?). Trotzdem waren auch immer wieder interessante Passagen dabei und Fakten, die zum reflektieren und selber philosophieren anregen. Nüchterner Schreibstil und manche Widersprüche (mal nimmt er Kant in Schutz, dass er die NS Zeit ja nicht ahnen konnte und später wird ihm indirekt angehängt, dass er der Nährboden für die Nazis war). Für Interessierte ein Blick wert.

Für den philosophischen Laien gut zu lesen
Hin und wieder musste ich einen Satz zweimal lesen. Dennoch versteht man den Autor gut und man begreift die Philosophie Kants. Das ist sicher ein tolles Buch, sollte man mit Philosophie noch nicht in Berührung gekommen zu sein. Allerdings hat es sich zum Ende ein wenig gezogen und es konnte mich persönlich nicht mehr so arg fesseln wie am Anfang!
