Als ich das Buch mehrmals auf Booktok gesehen hatte, musste ich es lesen. Da es dort als extremer Horror bezeichnet wurde, mehrere Menschen beim Lesen anscheinend würgen mussten, obwohl sie nicht zart besaitet wären und die Story ganz interessant klang, wurde ich neugierig und dachte, dass es sich dabei um ein Buch handeln könnte, was auch mit mir beim Lesen was anstellt. Ich muss dazu sagen, dass ich schon mehrere Bücher gelesen habe, die wirklich dem Genre Extreme horror angehören. Demnach würde ich behaupten, einiges gewohnt zu sein. It's me, Charlie würde ich jedoch nicht in dieses Genre einordnen. Bis auf eine Szene, die tatsächlich sehr eklig war, ist mir nichts "krasses" an diesem Buch aufgefallen. Durch die kurze Seitenanzahl wird das Geschriebene weder sehr detailliert noch bildhaft rübergebracht. Es war weder gruselig noch erschreckend. Eventuell ekelerregend und für zart besaitete Leser vielleicht auch etwas verstörend aber ich hab tatsächlich dank der Reaktionen auf tiktok viel mehr erwartet.
