I loved this book, just like the first one! The worldbuilding gets even better in this one than the first one, especially because Crier and Ayla are seperated for a lot of the novel. They both develop more from the first book, Ayla learns that the Automae are not all the same and Crier learns about the world outside of the palace and her books.I loved the romance, because its basically both of them being dumbasses and yearning for each other which is just *chef's kiss*...also their reunion was so great, but also awkward...and their second kiss after all the time apart was just perfect! I also loved all the side characters, especially Queen Junn who deserves her own book! This book should have been longer (just like the first one) because I wanted to spend more time with the characters, not just Crier and Ayla, but also Hook and Erren, who's reunion was amazing as well! All of these characters deserve their own book tbh.The ending is anticlimatic and a bit deus ex machina. I wanted to see a real battle between Kinoks supporterts and Junns. Also wanted to learn more about Dinara and Faye and their connection. Another thing is that the conflict between Benjy and Ayla wasn't explored enough and not really resolved. All in all, this was a good sequel and I will definitely buy the paperback when it comes out!! I listened to it as an audiobook because I loved Crier's War so much, but I definitely need it on my bookshelf!
