Institutions Colonization &Ethnic Fractionalization on African Economy

Africa has been a continent of great interest and inspiration to me. Its abundant natural resources, youthful population and diverse culture has kept me questioning its slow economic growth and development. Why would a continent the size of India, China and part of Europe combined lag behind so much economically? What are the root causes of the challenges Africa is facing and how can they be resolved?
