Another book, another legion and Primarch. The secretive actions of Alpharius and his legion is quite a change and feels more like another arm of the Holy Inquisition. The story itself is a really good read and Abnett managed again to really draw me in. The only thing that was kind of arduous for me is some titles felt like names and vice versa. For example, it really took a while to recognise "Peto" really is a name and unlike a title like "Uxor".

I had high hopes for this book, especially after the disappointment of *Descent of Angels*. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The constant double-crossing became exhausting after a while. *Sigh*—John Grammaticus... what an insufferable character. I couldn’t stand him. Overall, I really didn’t enjoy this book. There's not even much that can be said about it
