This was my favourite Shardlake book so far i think! I just really enjoyed the family drama, as tragic and sad as it was. Overall, it was a 'typical' Shardlake novel, though having read some i do not feel so 'cold' towards the characters anymore as i did with the first one or two (i loved the books but couldn't get an emotional connection to the characters), so maybe that is another reason why i enjoyed this best so far.
