Eines morgens werden die Greystone-Kinder aus ihrem gewohnten Alltag gerissen und nichts ist mehr so, wie es mal gewesen ist. Aus drei unterschiedlichen Perspektiven wird uns die interessante Handlung erzählt. So lernt man auch gleich die Figuren immer besser kennen. Haddix schafft es, allen drei Kinder ihre eigenen Charakterzüge zu verleihen, was man auch an ihrer Erzwählweise merkt. Die Autorin schafft es, ein eher komplexes Thema kindgerecht und spannend zu verarbeiten. Auch wenn es für mich kein Highlight war, ist es doch ein kurzweiliges und interessantes Buch. Vor allem die Zielgruppe wird hier viel Gesprächsstoff geliefert bekommen. Schade, dass kein Anhang beigefügt wurde, der das Thema (hier wird nicht gespoiltert ;) noch auf wissenschaftlicher Basis aufgreift und den Kindern erklärt. Die Ansätze sind in der Geschichte nämlich vorhanden, sodass etwas Vertiefung sehr gut dazu gepasst hätte.
