This was a trainwreck. I really liked the Aston’s Wrong series so I was excited to read more of her stuff. This book, however, was a big cringe party. Lydia is a 22 year old woman who, after crushing really hard on this absolutely boring man, decides to auction her virginity, so that she can sleep with him. He ignored her after a make out session in the office of a bar. He then pays half a million just to be able to sleep with her. Lydia was extremely annoying and naïve. She thinks losing her virginity is the most important thing in her life and she made such a big deal about it. Rhys was in his thirties but the least independent man in any NA book I’ve ever read. They fall in love after two weeks and we’re supposed to believe this? There was no chemistry at all between them. Maybe it's only me but I was also annoyed because it seemed a little bit offensive: "See, this is how I'm still a virgin! Men are so freaking complicated. And stupid. I hate them. All of them." - "Are you going lesbian on me right now? Listen, I respect your choices, yadda yadda, but I don't think I'm into you. [...]" What the hell? First of all, who uses 'yadda yadda'? And secondly, NO, she is not 'going lesbian on you' just because she's fed up with men. Not everyone is flirting with you, Payton. Just because someone complains about men doesn't mean they're into women. Ugh, straight people. I gotta say, I’m really disappointed that this book wasn’t on the same level as her previous ones.
