Surprisingly, I liked this book better than most of the series. The writing was better, the pacing made sense, nothing came totally out of the blue, including no weird and unnecessary new perspectives. The world-building is still icky though and my opinion on it remains the same. There's only one romance that I could see the appeal of and it's not Schuyler's that initially started this whole series. While this book does a way better job of actually telling what happens in the span of it, it still leaves out just as much of what happened before its start. And while I get that part of it was because the author set up a spin off series for Bliss and wolves but I didn't even get that that was supposed to happen and was just weirded out by Bliss being totally MIA for two books (especially since she had the most interesting perspective) and this book seems like it spoils too much of the spin off to be able to keep the plot consistent. I wouldn't have picked up the spin off anyway, but this makes me consider it even less, as I feel like I'd learn nothing new.
