Forged by Magic is a very cozy fantasy Romance which entertained me.. But, somehow something was missing here, I saw a lot of potential that wasn't fully exploited. At first it was difficult to get into the book and towards the end everything was dealt with much too quickly. I liked the Characters and the cozy atmosphere here. I am definitely going to read the second one and let me surprise if it’s going to be better than the first one. But don’t get me wrong, I didn’t hated this book but either did I loved it. Thanks to NetGalley and the author for providing me the ARC!
Very cosy, it’s marked as suitable for the faint of heart and I agree to some degree. There was a lot of potential for drama and conflict that never played out, there was no big battle and just a tiny misunderstanding. But the thread of drama still had me on edge. So just be aware of that. Otherwise great world building and a lot of potential for the following books. I loved the island and how the villagers behaved. The FMC really was confident and cool and the mmc understood her from the get go and was never fooled by her fake behaviors. They build a beautiful relationship and friendship.
Was für ein großartiger Auftakt in eine cozy Fantasy-Reihe! Forged by Magic überzeugt nicht nur als Startpunkt einer Reihe, sondern funktioniert auch wunderbar als eigenständige Geschichte. Die Protagonist*innen sind vielschichtig gezeichnet, haben eigene Ziele und treten in lebendigen, oft charmanten Interaktionen mit den Nebenfiguren auf. Das Setting hat mich stark an Dungeons & Dragons erinnert – voller Abenteuerflair, Magie und dem Gefühl, Teil einer lebendigen Spielrunde zu sein. Dazu gibt es ein paar liebevolle Plottwists, die die Geschichte frisch halten, und eine klare Happy-End-Garantie, die das Buch perfekt in die cozy Fantasy einordnet. Für Fans von Charaktertiefe, Wohlfühl-Fantasy und D&D-Stimmung eine klare Empfehlung – ich freue mich schon sehr auf die weiteren Bände!
