Description
The world of Fables is introduced to a whole new set of characters...The Literals. The Literals are characters that embody, literally, different literary genres such as Mystery, Comedy and Romance. One of The Literals goes by the name The Storymaker, one who can vanquish the world of Fables with one stroke of his pen.
When Jack discovers the existence of The Literals and their leader Kevin Thorn aka The Storymaker, Jack must leave his own book and crossover to the world of Fables to warn Fabletown about Kevin Thorn. Does the The Storymaker plan to close the book on the Fables universe once and for all?
The Great Fables Crossover features appearances from Fables favorites such as Snow White, Bigby Wolf, Rose Red, Jack Frost,
Beauty and The Beast.

This was horrible! It almost stopped me from continuing the Fables series – so please do yourself a favor and skip this one. The Great Fables Crossover is (as the title suggests) a crossover between Jack of Fables – the Jack spinoff – and the main story arc of Fables. In it, Jack comes back to Fabletown to jointly battle The Literals, a family that embodies literary notions (like writer’s block or genre fiction etc.). In the span of the story Kevin Thorn, a Literal and possibly the creator of the Fables story, threatens to rewrite the entire universe. Even though Jack has never been my favorite Fables character, I originally really liked the idea of a crossover. However, most of the edition is dedicated to the so-called Literals. While this might have seemed like a clever idea for the authors, it wasn’t fun to read. For me, the story felt like an inside joke the reader wasn’t part of. I felt confused and left out. Moreover, most of newly introduced characters were quite flat and a lot of their jokes felt slightly childish.
