I was really rooting for this book - the 1982 movie version with Sir Peter Ustinov was my first impression of Hercule Poirot, I was around ten years old (not in 1982, but when I first saw the movie) and it left a lasting impression on me; and after recently reading "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" I was really excited to read this one. Well, I was very disappointed - I somewhat missed the "single narrator POV" (even though I didn't miss that when reading "Murder on the Orient Express" (and probably others)), but it felt randomly stitched together at some points - and I absolutely hated the last scene (when Kenneth Marshall asked Rosamund Darnley to marry him and stop working)
